One might encounter a worn out 17th century Portuguese-style mansion called the Braganza's house while walking through the lanes of Chandor (originally Chandrapur) which used to a the old captial of the kingdom of Goa.

This beautiful mansion has a winding stairway to reach the main hall , a big ballroom with the floor made of italian marble, an antique chandelier from Europe adorning the ceiling, and heavily carved , ornate rodewood furniture, most of the furniture dates back to the 18th Century and is made from local seeso (martel wood), lacquered or inlaid with mother of pearl by craftsman from Curtorim Village, the perfect example of Goan granduer of yesteryears.

As I stood at the iron wrought gate with the cycle resting, it felt like time stood still and it made paint this on location right there.
