Swetha Shalem Wedding Card

Made with mixed media (watercolours and colour pencils), this wedding invitation and envelope was designed for a Christian couple from Hyderabad, both of whom are doctors. They wanted an illustration of the two of them standing in front of the church where they were getting married.

Both gold medallists, they also wanted a small medal incorporated into the design, hanging beside their names.There was a lovely little detail that made the invitation even more personal: the groom wanted the medal next to the bride’s name on his card, while the bride wanted the medal next to the groom’s name on hers. I thought the idea was absolutely delightful.

Their initials, S & S, are placed together on the front of the envelope, while the back features two garlands hanging from a cross, bringing together the personal and Christian elements of their wedding.
